Mr. Watkins' experience includes 20 years in the real estate sales, finance, investment and development industry. He founded SouthStar Development in 1994 to provide real estate asset management services to the Bernice P. Bishop Estate/Kamehameha Schools and Pauahi Management Corporation of Honolulu. Mr. Watkins' education includes a BA from Washington & Lee University and an MBA from Wake Forest University. Past Experience includes Real Estate Asset Management and Development with the H. Smith Richardson Testamentary Trust (Greensboro, NC), Frederick Investment Corporation (Raleigh, NC) and Montrose Capital Corporation (Durham, NC).

Charles E. "Ted" Brewer
Vice President

Mr. Brewer's experience in construction management and business provides SouthStar with critical insight into costs, scheduling and project management. Mr. Brewer's education includes a BS in Civil Engineering from the Citadel and Masters degree work from Lehigh University. Past experience includes US Army Corp of Engineers in Vietnam, VP of Construction Operations for Weaver Brothers, (Chevy Chase, MD) and Snyder Hunt Development Company (Blacksburg, VA).

C. David Longley
Treasurer

Mr. Longley's experience in finance and accounting is an asset to SouthStar and its clients. Mr. Longley's education includes a BBA in Accounting/Management from James Madison University. Past Experience includes: VP of Finance and Treasurer of WC&AN Miller Companies concentrating on real estate development, property management, brokerage, new home sales and construction (Washington, DC): Financial Administrator and Operations Manager in wholesale and retail sales markets (Madison, VA).

Palmer S. Watkins

Mr. Watkins’ previous experience includes 17 years of sales, marketing, and management. Mr. Watkins education includes a BA from Guilford College, graduate studies at North Carolina State University in Landscape Architecture and a North Carolina Real Estate Brokers license. Mr. Watkins was a member of Coldwell Banker’s Sterling Society and has helped with the marketing of Turtlewood at Southport, (Southport, NC.) His real estate sales and marketing experience allow him the abilities to lead Borden SouthStar Properties in today’s real estate market.
